Did you know that your brain never actually switches off, not even when you’re asleep?

Did you know your brain never fully sleeps ? Even at night , it works to store memories , regulate emotions , clear toxins , and support growth

While the body rests, the brain gets busy. It’s quietly storing the lessons of the day, making sense of emotions, clearing out waste that builds up in brain cells, and even releasing the hormones that support growth and repair. In many ways, sleep is the time when some of the brain’s most important work gets done.

For children and teenagers, this becomes even more crucial. A well-rested brain is sharper, more focused, better at handling stress, and more prepared to learn. On the other hand, when sleep is cut short, attention, memory, and mood all take a hit.

So the next time your child insists on staying up “just a little longer,” it may help to remind them that while they sleep, their brain is putting in a full night shift to help them grow and thrive.

How many hours of sleep does your child usually get on a school night?
