Dr. Aman’s Profile
Dr. Sohal completed his comprehensive postgraduate training in General Pediatrics and Neonatalogy as a pediatric resident and registrar in prestigious Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool U.K.
He obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), U.K in 2006. He then trained as a senior registrar in the field of Pediatric Neurology from The Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, U.K.
He was awarded Completion of Certified Training (CCT) in Pediatric Neurology and Pediatrics by the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in 2012. Dr. Sohal is one of the very few Pediatric Neurologists in the U.K who also trained in Pediatric Neurophysiology as a post CCT fellow.
Due to his additional experience he is proficient in interpreting and carrying out pediatric EEG’s, Nerve conduction study and Needle Electromyography.
Dr. Sohal is one of the well-rounded Pediatric Neurology doctors in Sharjah with experience as a Consultant in major tertiary/ quaternary hospitals in the U.K with includes Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary. Dr. Sohal moved to the UAE in 2015 and has worked as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, which is a large tertiary pediatric referral center since September 2015 prior to moving to Neuropedia Childrens Neuroscience Center.
Dr. Sohal has vast experience in managing various pediatric neurological conditions which include Simple and Complex epilepsy, Headaches and Migraine, Cerebral palsy and Spasticity management, Movement disorders, Developmental impairments, Autism, ADHD, Neuromuscular disorders and Sleep disorders. His special interest includes Complex epilepsy, Pediatric Neuropathies and Neuro-rehabilitation.
Dr. Sohal has published widely with numerous peer-reviewed articles in various pediatrics and pediatric neurology journals. He has been an invited speaker in various national and international meetings. He has been part of teaching faculty at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. His professional memberships include Fellowship of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child health (FRCPCH) and member of the British Pediatric Neurology Association.
