Dr. Aman’s Profile
With over two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Aman Sohal is a distinguished UK-trained Consultant Pediatric Neurologist known for his expertise, compassion, and dedication to pediatric health. He began his medical journey with specialist postgraduate training in General Pediatrics and Neonatology at the esteemed Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, one of Europe’s leading pediatric institutions. He earned his Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2006, demonstrating a strong foundation in pediatric care.
Dr. Aman PS Sohal then pursued advanced training in Pediatric Neurology at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, culminating in the award of his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology in 2012. Uniquely, he also undertook a post-CCT fellowship in Pediatric Neurophysiology, a rare qualification that gives him specialized skills in conducting and interpreting EEGs, nerve conduction studies, and needle electromyography (EMG), critical diagnostic tools for complex neurological conditions in children.
His career spans several leading UK hospitals, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary, where he served as a consultant in highly specialized pediatric neurology teams.
In 2015, Dr. Sohal relocated to the UAE, where he joined Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, a major tertiary referral center, as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist. Dr Sohal is currently serving as the Division Chief of Pediatric Neurology at Al Qassimi Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Sharjah, a flagship government hospital under the Ministry of Health and Prevention. He now continues to offer his expertise at Neuropedia Children’s Neuroscience Center, one of the UAE’s premier pediatric neurology facilities.
Dr. Sohal brings an evidence-based approach to managing a wide range of pediatric neurological conditions, including: Epilepsy (simple and complex), Headaches and migraines, Cerebral palsy and spasticity, Movement disorders, Autism and ADHD, Neuromuscular diseases, Developmental delays and pediatric sleep disorders.
His clinical interests include complex epilepsy, pediatric neuropathies, and neuro-rehabilitation, where he is especially focused on improving functional outcomes and quality of life in children with neurological challenges.
As a passionate educator and researcher, Dr. Sohal has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a regular invited speaker at national and international conferences. He has also served as teaching faculty at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, mentoring future generations of pediatricians and neurologists.
He holds a Fellowship (FRCPCH) with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and is an active member of the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA).
